though I try to hide it it's clear, my world crumbles when you are not near...

So this morning, I was eating the best cereal in the world, Honey Nut Cheerios lower your cholesterol lol and I happened to look at the side of the box. There was an advertisement or whatever you call it about this guy named, Benjamin Taylor and his new song, I Try which also is on their TV commercial. I had this hunch that this is the same song that Macy Gray sang. Curiosity, I guess, killed the cat and made me check it out. I WAS RIGHT!

For me, Macy Gray's version was already amazing but this guy brings that extra something. It's a guy thing I guess. Remember that
Ne-Yo's version of Irreplaceable, well it was kind of like that or Cater 2 U by Passion as another example. You relate to the song more now that a guy is singing it. It's just me, I don't know about other people. Weird I know.. Okay here we go..

Benjamin Taylor - I Try

Okay, so I wanted to know more about the guy. I was intrigued in other words. And guess what, this guy is James Taylor's son. If you don't know who he is, you suck? LOL i don't know. Anyways, so it made me question whether or not talent is genetics. Like if your parents are singers, will that make you have that beautiful voice as well which will make you an amazing singer? Just so that I can marry a very talented girl because I can't sing for shit... LOL wow I am random..

Today, I had the same meal from that last blog I made. Only difference:

1.) My pho had tripe this time. I didn't know what it was but it was pretty effing weird. I still ate it though. And the noodles are like really really thick. My friend said it was because it is fresh and the little ones like they use in Mississauga for example, is just instant. Well I guess I want me some instant pho then nig. lol

2.) Had the same avocado shake but this time, it is bigger and with tapioca.

3.) This time, it was at mothereffing Chinatown..

I also purchased a book today. It is called, Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. Yes, it was turned into a movie with Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. Here's the trailer if you didn't know. I wanted to read the book first so I guess I'll watch the movie as soon as I'm done. I hear this from other people that this book/movie is intense. I like intensity? LOL. Watch the trailer below:

It just reminded me of that movie coming out or something. That movie with
Channing Tatum. rip to the off. Maybe not.

Another news, came home to a new video by Kanye West for the song, Amazing. Yeah son, from the snippet pictures to the final product... So Amazing!! I guess that's what they wanted to accomplish. The amazing sceneries make you go. "Wow, that's amazing I want to go there" some ish like that. Anyways, here is the video. Enjoy..

Kanye West - Amazing (feat. Young Jeezy) [Official Music Video]

"victorious, yeah, we warriors, we make history, strive off victory" -jeezy

*okay too much music. I'll give the usual "peep through my Ipod" a rest.

*and I'm still awake because I want to see the Lakers win.

Later!!

don't want a woman just to love her assets, still wife her up even with her flat chest...

Oh wow! I just logged on STU-VIEW and saw my marks. Brutal!! One F, two D's and two C's. Don't judge me. My problem was I just let a certain individual got to me to the point that I lost weight and slacked in school, but that's about it. My last semester's GPA is greater than 3.0. Go figure! I am still thankful though. I thought I totally crapped this semester that I was expecting three F's. So thank you God! I can say that no girl is ever worth jeopardizing my education so never again will that happen.

Next semester, I'm going at it like
Lebron James going at the Pistons. But Lakers all the way. I'm too confident that I bet $50 that they're going to win the Championship. No jinx (yn). That's so bad though but it's all just wholesome fun. It's just money anyways.

And I just had
pho with some friends. Mmmm... haven't had some in a while. Imagine a bowl of medium rare beef with beef tenderloin and beef brisket pho soup and some avocado shake after a hard workout. Suck on that fatigue and hunger. lol So tired, but NBA Playoffs all day, everyday... Rockets > Blazers... lol

OK. I am soo tired but I just wanted to update my blogspot. I am done so I guess I am signing off but first,

here we go..

Let's talk Cleveland. I know I should be talking about Los Angeles but I just wanted to feature one of my favourite rappers right now. His name Scott Mescudi aka KiD CuDi and he is from, you guessed it, Cleveland. This guy has potential to be huge. I like his sound and yes, I am a big fan now. This guy has been on repeat for a while. so fresh, so clean Takes me back when I first heard Kanye West on the radio. He had the same impact on me. It is a rare occurance so bare with me.lol

This song is called Man on the Moon (The Anthem) from the mixtape, A Kid Named CuDi. I love this song man but I swear, the mixtape could've been an official album and I would've copped it. It's that good actually. Anyways, enjoy...

KiD CuDi - Man on the Moon (The Anthem)

"and imma do what I do so do you hey, hey"
k.cudi

The beat is so sick. He got it from this song Aquarium by Nosaj Thing. I don't know who they are but the video is interesting.

Whooo* Peace!!

my reign is as far as your eyes can see...

Last exam tomorrow! Yeah son! I have at least 6 hours to master this course. No distractions, no procrastinating, I am going to assure that nothing will ruin my studying time. I am going to tell my sister to eff off for tonight. It will be fun. Anyways, I'll give myself breaks though like every 30 minutes. LMAO! I lied. So yup, I'm blogging away because no blogspot, facebook, youtube, hulu and msn and other useless things I usually come across in the web for tonight.

Anyways..

Oh yea last night was the last regular season games of the whole NBA. 82 games
over and done with. The Raptors won huge last night. As much as I wanted them to be in the Playoffs, rebuilding mode is so much more exciting. Okay, maybe not but the trade speculations, the NBA Draft and which lottery pick we are going to get and new players that might come in, whether Chris Bosh is in or out, a new coach perhaps?

So I am so hyped up for playoff basketball. Why? Because of rowdier fans, teams play harder, intimidations, swagger, a sea of Red, Blue, Black, White or any other colours the team decides the fan to wear, homecourt advantages, referee calls being more important than any other, injuries, matchups, fights breaking loose, people cheering DEFENSE!!, deciding game 7's.. pretty much everything!

Got hyped up from this video too..

Kanye West - Amazing [NBA Playoffs Preview]

"I love all you guys and one more thing, bounce!" - m.finley .. LOL., that made me laugh

and yes, nice choice of song. I love Kanye and NBA therefore, video is a winner.

and just to break it all down I am rooting for the Hornets and Heat (yes, I will trade Chris Bosh for Chris Paul or Dwayne Wade anytime of the year) but..

It will be Cavaliers and Lakers in the end though. Lakers winning it in Game 6. Game 7 will just be interesting and tough to call because, Cavaliers will have homecourt advantage or something. That's what I think because they have the best record, 66-16. Not bad.

So the Lakers are the 2008/2009 NBA Champions! Kobe for Finals MVP of course .. called it!

and here we go...

Let's keep it Kanye for today. One of the most amazing debut album of a rapper in my opinion. This song is from the album, College Dropout and it is called, Two Words featuring Mos Def & Freeway. This song is amazing y'all enjoy..

Speaking of College Dropout, I lost my copy so I gotta cop that again. Just like Kanye will say, Where are you Yeezy?.. sigh*

"Most imitated, Grammy nominated, hotel accommodated, cheerleader prom dated" - k.west

*This blog is a mess. I am trying to finish it because I want to nap. You know you can't study when you are tired. (which I will be for the rest of the night..) FML! only for tonight though.

i never half step cause I'm not a half stepper, drink a lot of soda so they call me Dr. Pepper...

Disney is taking over the world or something. If you haven't seen those different versions of Camp Rock songs, then you won't know what I'm talking about. It's just great seeing Filipino artists be in the Hollywood spotlight or Disney spotlight singing songs by The Jonas Brothers or Demi Lovato. I guess I am pretty proud to say the least.

Not a while ago, there was another one with the High School Musical songs which was awesome as well. That one was actually better because countries like India getting their "We're All in this Together" and "All For One" on.

You know how India is in terms of musicals and movies so I'm not even going to elaborate on that.

Well, it just reminded me of this video I stumbled upon a long, long time ago.

This video is part of an award-winning documentary called "Playing For Change: Peace Through Music" In the official website, it is described as "a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect and bring peace to the world through music". The song above is "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King.

I loved this rendition. It's something new, something creative, something fresh and raw. You have got to love things like this. There are other songs like "One Love" by Bob Marley just to name another favourite of mine. We all love Bob Marley so I enjoyed that rendition too.

*on the side note I guess I can dedicate this to you. It may seem I'm not there but I'll always be a friend that can be counted on. You are always welcome to cry on the phone with me and just rant. Keep your head up buddy! I'll always be standing by you.

and here we go...

Let's feature A Tribe Called Quest this time. Yeah son, one of my favourite groups scratch that .. my favourite group. One of the reasons why I wanted to go to the Rock The Bells last year was because of their reunion. I would've been "bugging out". Next time, next time. I guess Q-Tip's new CD, The Renaissance kind of made up for it. It made me so happy, too bad I haven't listened to that CD lately. All in all, amazing group y'all..so speaking of bugging out, enjoy..

A Tribe Called Quest - We've Got the Jazz/Buggin' Out [official music video]

Buggin' Out starts at 3:36 LOL so goofy looking but watch the whole video.

and if you didn't know, KiD CuDi and Consequence remade the song and also the video. Enjoy..

KiD CuDi & Consequence - Buggin' Out '09

and oh yeah, since I am on the topic of Filipinos being in the spotlight, I just want to say that Rik Cordero directed this video. Yes, he is Filipino and doing it big in the independent video scene. He has directed The Roots, Q-Tip, Jay-Z just to name a few.

.. and I want those bugging out eyes, they are so trippy.

Brooklyn, New York City where they paint murals of Biggie..

Happy Easter everyone! Today was a drag since I had work. I didn't even go to church or let's just say couldn't because I fell asleep. Too tired to even open a book or even read some stuff on WebCT. Nothing really much to say but just been really busy. A lot to talk about but no time at all. Exam week is killing me but I stay cool pretty much like this girl right here:

She still looks beautiful but I think she's going to be pulling an Amber Rose sooner than later. If not, then I guess she dared to be different like Diddy said (or however you call him now really). One thing is for sure, I'd marry her with or without hair.

I am so tired and I have two exams tomorrow. Gotta get my rest right about now. It might seem early but I am just beat. Goodluck to everyone who has exams, interviews, and anything that will need that little push and a little luck. Goodnight!

and here we go..

Two of my favourite rappers, Talib Kweli and Mos Def who joined together to be, Black Star made one of my favourite songs. This song is called, Definition, out of the album Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star. If you don't have that album yet, you gotta buy it. I give it 4 and a half stars or even 4 and three quarters *lol just because, Illmatic is still that 5 star album. It just set the standars that high but trust me, this CD does not disappoint.

At the end of the video, there is also a snippet of the song,
RE:DEFinition. One of the rawest videos I've ever seen since it was shot in New York. It is so raw, there's a shot of them getting pulled over by a cop asking for "license & registration". LOL. "What are you deaf?" There is something about New York, man and just like DJ Khaled, this video "go hard". Enjoy..

Black Star - Definition [official music video]

"One two three, Mos Def and Talib Kweli, we came to rock on the tiptop, best alliance in hiphop, y-o"

walkin talkin dead, though we think we're livin, black zombies...

Easter is time for reflecting on what Jesus did for humankind. It is also time for.. you guessed it chocolates! Seriously, there is enough chocolate in this place I call home it is not even funny. This thing is ruining my workout. Calories, calories and more calories and did I say calories everywhere. There are wrappers on the computer desk, the fridge, the trash, the floor, the table, my freaking room.

The sad thing is they are actually really good!! and unfortunately, does not help my case.

I am talking about Lindt Easter Eggs and Kinder Schoko-Bons.

Lindt Easter Eggs are the ones that come in White, Milk, and Dark Chocolate that has that filling inside but this time, shaped like an egg, DUH!. In other words, the ones that melts in your mouth. (and i ain't talking about M&M's.) Don't tell me you never tried it.

The other one is the Kinder Schoko-Bons and are just like Kinder Bueno (another favourite). That good hazelnut filling inside and again in an egg form. OHEMGEE!! laugh out loud.

Now I gotta do like 45 minutes of Cardio Workout just to make up for it and play Basketball for at least an hour. Just going to sweat it all out. *realizes another sore body coming up FML!!

Enough of this fattening post and got to get back on my project!

and here we go..

A new song came out called, "Maybach Music Part II". It is by Rick Ross featuring Kanye West, Lil' Wayne and T-Pain. The only reason why I posted this song is because it reminded of me of that episode of BET's 106 & Park that guested KiD CuDi and Kanye West. They were both asked to freestyle and Kanye dropped this verse. He actually said it in the beginning that that verse is going to be in a Rick Ross track. I guess rappers can't freestyle anymore. Oh well.. anyways enjoy..

Rick Ross - Maybach Music Part II (feat. Kanye West, Lil' Wayne & T-Pain)

walk like warriors, we were never told to run...

So yesterday, it was announced that the G.O.A.T. aka His Airness aka Michael Jordan is going to head the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2009 this coming September along with John Stockton of the Utah Jazz, David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs, one of the longest serving coaches ever to stay in one team Coach Jerry Sloan of the Utah Jazz (amazingly he coached John Stockton and Karl Malone and is still coaching the same team 10 years later), and Coach C. Vivian Stringer of the Rutgers Women's basketball team.

These people has accomplished a lot in their careers. One holds the NBA record for most assist and steals and a two-time Gold Medalist, one is an NBA MVP and 1990 ROY, one holds the record for coaching the same team longer than anyone, one holds the best coaching record in woman's basketball history and one is the greatest player ever lived with 5 NBA MVP's, 6 Championship rings as well as being the most recognizable athlete.

For me, it was about time Michael Jordan get in. But like he said, he didn't like being up there because it means it is all over. It's true, we still wish people like him never get older so that we can watch him forever playing basketball. Then again, when you deserve to be there and it is your time, then people want to see you there. I really thought he was going to be in last year but this year's class is amazing. Like so amazing, imagine the three in the same team as well as having two great coaches lol, told you it's crazy. I am not going to front, I am too young to be talking about Michael Jordan like I grew up watching him.

Trust me, I don't remember watching that Cleveland game and that infamous pump, that Lakers game where he switched hands, the Slam Dunk contests where he battled with Dominique Wilkins, jumped from the freethrow line and stuck out his tounge, the the 3-point shot over Cliff Robinson and the shrug. Heck, I don't even remember the original Bulls team that won the '91-93 Championships. All I remember really is the team that consists of Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Steve Kerr, Luc Longley, Toni Kukoc, Ron Harper, Bill Wennington just to name a few from the top of my head (I remember them so good, I still remember their jersey numbers). As well as that rivalry with the Utah Jazz with Karl Malone, John Stockton, Jeff Hornacek, Greg Ostertag, Byron Russell, Antoine Carr again just to name a few from the top of my head.

The only thing I actually seen on TV is that 1998 Finals shot when Byron Russell slipped or I guess got crossed to win Game 6. See, I am that young.

videos..

The Shot - the Cleveland game

the mid-air switch hand lay-up against the Lakers

the Blazers game aka The Shrug

the 1998 Finals game over Russell

I remember this thing we would do when we were kids, my cousins and I will play basketball and act like we are the Big Three. I am talking about Rodman, Pippen and Jordan. I was actually Rodman and I have "The Worm" poster to prove it. laugh out loud

Anyways, I've always admired the guy even with err let's just say not enough times to watch him play . Leading a team to 72 wins in a season, and there are 82 games in a season, 50-plus point games or even 60, that infamous flu game when he played even though he was really sick and other things I don't even want to Google. You can't really say enough good things about this man right here. He is the epitome of hard work, leadership, pretty much that never say never attitude. You've heard about his trash talking, his attitude of calling out and making fun of his teammates but that's it. This guy may not have as good looking shot as Kobe Bryant, hops like LeBron James, quickness as Dwayne Wade but this guy did it all. So whoever keeps saying Kobe/LeBron > Jordan is blah in my books. If you don't know greatness when you see it, then please, just stick to your LeBron highlights and Kobe's 81-point game.

Besides, who didn't want to Be Like Mike?

Again, I salute this great Class of 2009. Who's next? Pippen, Mullin, who else?

and here we go...

Today's music will consist of two Toronto natives. Colin Munroe, the guy from the infamous "I Want Those Flashing Light" video and Drake from Degrassi series who is also making his own name as a rapper. These two is part of the future of hip-hop along with Wale, KiD CuDi, B.O.B., Asher Roth just to name a few. This song is called "Cannon Ball" from Munroe's mixtape "Colin Munroe is The Unsung Hero" enjoy...

Colin Munroe - Cannon Ball (feat. Drake)

*learned that trick from Mr. Anthony Romano aka http://voiceboxbrain.blogspot.com/ LOL visit him.

and speaking of Wale, the D.C. rapper he recently dropped a new joint called "Penthouse Anthem" It is about girls and I'm talking about the pole dancers and what not LOL. A little naughty but I enjoyed it. so enjoy..

Wale - Penthouse Anthem

"i got something for them stripper girls..."

*man this blog is too long, I guess just making up for that a week and something days that I didn't blog.
